
The School of Arts and Sciences of Sulu State College officially launched its Speech Laboratory for the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (BAELS) through a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the College of Arts and Sciences.
The ribbon-cutting was spearheaded by Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, College President, together with officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), including Engr. Janeny B. Domingsil, Dr. Joe-an G. Cuaresma, Dr. Clarissa C. Alvarez, Dr. Vincent A. Regalado, and Mr. Conrad Fruibel A. Quilab.
The program was facilitated by the College of Arts and Sciences, led by the Chairperson of BAELS Mr. Khaizar Barrie. The ceremony began with an opening message from Dr. Emilda Paraja, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, followed by a message from the College President, Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE.
The Speech Laboratory was established under the project titled “Provision on Higher Education Service (Machinery and Equipment Outlay),” funded through the General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2025 with a contract price of ₱4,990,000.00. The project was supplied by Mars Laboratory Instruments Center, with delivery completed on July 1, 2025, and installation finalized on August 12, 2025.
The new Speech Laboratory is a soundproof facility equipped with a multimedia projector, podium, 40 boardwhiz units, 1 teacher unit with headset, and 40 student booths designed to enhance language learning and communication skills.
This milestone reflects SSC’s continued commitment to providing quality facilities and resources for higher education, empowering students to achieve excellence in their academic journey.
