Turnover and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Held for Newly Established Nursery and Demo Farm at SSC School of Agriculture
The turnover, acceptance, and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly constructed Nursery and Dragon Fruit Post at the School of Agriculture, Sulu State College (SSC) was successfully conducted, marking a significant step in the institution’s commitment to agricultural development. The project, completed on December 21, 2024, had a contract price of ₱1,244,705.00 and is now fully operational.
This initiative, supported by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), aims to serve as both a learning hub for students and a valuable resource for local farmers. The project is part of the “Establishment of Nursery and Demo Farm of Fruit-Bearing Trees, Cereal, and Vegetable Production in Transfer of Balik Barangay in Patikul” program and was led by Project Leader Malikha Ilupa. With its completion, the nursery and demo farm will provide opportunities for hands-on learning, research, and agricultural innovation, benefiting both the school and the surrounding communities.
The project’s success was made possible through the unwavering support of CHED Chairperson Prof. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, DPA, whose commitment to educational and agricultural development has been instrumental. SSC President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, also played a crucial role in guiding the initiative, ensuring its alignment with SSC’s long-term vision for growth and sustainability.
