OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of Sulu State College is appointed by the College President, with Board of Trustees approval, to oversee the implementation of educational policies and programs. Serving as the primary coordinator for academic activities, the VPAA ensures effective training and education through program evaluation, supervision of instruction, and collaboration with deans and faculty. As an ex-officio Chairperson of the Council of Deans, the VPAA leads in formulating and assessing guidelines for academic and extracurricular activities. Additionally, the VPAA fosters inter-program coordination, faculty morale, and conflict resolution while upholding the college’s commitment to academic excellence and development.

- Serve as ex-officio Chairperson of the Council of Deans in the formulation of viable guidelines for instructional activities, its implementation, and evaluation;
- Coordinate the planning and preparation of the proposed annual budget of the different schools and units in the instructional programs, and propose the same to the college budget committee.
- Serve as ex-officio chairperson of all standing and/or Ad Hoc committees that shall study/conduct regular faculty appraisal on performance ratings.
- Upon consultation with the deans and department chairpersons, create and Ad Hoc committee that shall study and supervise students’ co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as the supreme student council election, field trips, etc.
- Approve the yearly program of work of the deans and college registrar.
