Sulu State College, through its School of Social Work, held its first-ever Pinning and Send-Off Ceremony for Batch Salutis Servatores (Savior of Well-Being) on May 23, 2025, at the SSC Center for Culture and Arts. The event was held under the theme: “Transcending Boundaries: A Journey of Empowerment Toward a Brighter Tomorrow for Future Social Work Professionals.”

The ceremony began with an opening message from Assoc. Prof. Patricia I. Amilhussin, Ed.D., which was delivered on her behalf by Asst. Prof. Emilda A. Paraja, the newly appointed Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

This was followed by an overture song performed by Bhenzar Jainul, and a video presentation that featured key memories of the batch, highlighting their academic journey and shared experiences.

An inspirational message was then delivered by Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, who emphasized the vital role of social workers in community building and service.

The highlight of the program was the pinning ceremony, where each student was pinned by a parent or guardian. This symbolic gesture marked their readiness to enter the field of social work and their transition from students to future professionals.

The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Karwina Salim, representing Hja. Imelda P. Kangiluhan, RSW, the Provincial Social Welfare Officer of MSSD-Sulu. She was introduced by Mr. Cist A. Saiyari Jr.

In recognition of the guest speaker’s presence, a plaque of appreciation was awarded.

Furthermore, Sheena Mae I. Tan led the Pledge of Commitment, followed by a ceremonial song performed by the graduating batch.

The event concluded with a heartfelt closing message from Hja. Dared Mailiza Abdulla Alih, Dean of the School of Social Work, who expressed gratitude to the families, faculty, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.

Sulu State College extends its warmest congratulations to Batch Salutis Servatores for reaching this significant milestone. The institution also thanks all parents, faculty, and guests who made the ceremony a meaningful celebration.
