In line with its steadfast vision to attain university status, Sulu State College (SSC) successfully conducted a Universityhood Readiness Assessment under the guidance of Dr. Mildred Libot, Chief Education Program Specialist from the Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The assessment commenced with a coaching session facilitated by Dr. Libot, where she shared essential insights and expert advice on institutional requirements, quality standards, and governance benchmarks necessary for achieving universityhood. Her session provided a clearer understanding of CHED’s prescribed criteria, further strengthening SSC’s preparedness and commitment to quality education.
Following the session, the Deans and Program Heads of Sulu State College took the opportunity to present their respective accomplishments, compliance status, and readiness indicators, demonstrating the institution’s ongoing efforts in aligning with CHED’s standards.
This significant initiative was spearheaded under the leadership of Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, College President, whose unwavering support continues to inspire SSC’s journey toward academic excellence and institutional transformation.
Sulu State College extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Mildred Libot for her valuable time, guidance, and expertise. Her presence and mentorship mark a vital step forward in SSC’s mission of becoming a university that upholds the highest standards in education, governance, and public service.
This endeavor supports UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, and aligns with Strategic Initiative 1 of the college ensuring academic excellence and institutional growth.
