
The Senior High School Department of Sulu State College successfully held its much-anticipated Career Day on January 15, 2025, at the SSC Gymnasium. With the theme “Forging Connections to the Future: Enabling Informed Choices for Lifelong Success,” the event aimed to guide students in making well-informed decisions about their future career paths.
Gracing the occasion were key figures of the institution, including the College Vice President, Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, who delivered an inspiring message to the participants. Esteemed guest speakers also shared their expertise, including Ms. Fhadzra Aisha P. Sabdani, SSC’s Guidance Counselor, and Mr. Abdulbasit B. Pawaki, Career Guidance Coordinator from MBHTE. Their insightful talks focused on career readiness, decision-making, and the significance of aligning personal goals with long-term aspirations.
This initiative is firmly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment that equips students with essential skills for lifelong learning. Additionally, the program reflects SSC’s Vision and Mission, the institution’s Core Values of Solidarity, Professionalism, Integrity, Commitment, and Excellence, and its Strategic Plan, particularly Strategic Initiative 3 (Enhancing Student Support Services) and Strategic Initiative 4 (Promoting Holistic Student Development).
The Career Day served as a vital platform for SSC Senior High School students to explore diverse career opportunities and gain insights into the pathways that will lead them to success, thus reaffirming SSC’s commitment to nurturing globally competitive and socially responsible graduates.
