Sulu State College (SSC) formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Datuh Indal Integrated Learning Center for Quran Memorization and Islamic Studies (DIILCQIS) on October 28, 2025. The partnership aims to implement a Halal Awareness and Livelihood Training Program that will benefit local communities through education and skills development.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, President of Sulu State College, and Sheikh Abdulmuhaimin J. Abubakar, Director of DIILCQIS.

Under the agreement, Sulu State College will conduct a two-month Halal Awareness and Livelihood Training every Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Datuh Indal Integrated Learning Center in Maimbung, Sulu. The program will be implemented from January to February 2026 through the Islamic Studies Department, College of Arts and Sciences Extension Services.

SSC will provide qualified faculty and trainers, as well as necessary learning materials and training kits. Meanwhile, DIILCQIS will provide the venue and assist in gathering participants for the program.

Present during the MOA signing were Dr. Rania Abduraup, Director for Internationalization, Linkages and Partnership of Sulu State College; Al-Fadzri Moharrani, Department Head of Islamic Studies; Sheikh Jamal A. Hanani; and Sheikh Mukhtar Jailani, Adviser of SUCPD.

The collaboration reflects SSC’s continuing commitment to promote community empowerment, Islamic education, and sustainable livelihood in the province of Sulu.
