Sulu State College proudly served as the venue for the Awarding and Closing Ceremony of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, a celebration honoring the invaluable service and dedication of government workers across the province.

The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Gil D. Caburnay, Director II of the Civil Service Commission Field Office for Sulu/Basilan, followed by an inspirational message from Hja. Nurunisah A. Tan, Executive Assistant from the Office of the Provincial Governor.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Katatangi-tanging Lingkod Bayani ng Probinsya ng Sulu (Abdusakur M. Tan Award)”, bestowed upon exemplary public servants who have demonstrated outstanding performance, integrity, and commitment to public service.

This year’s awardees include Engr. Firash Zhed S. Ututalum of Sulu State College, Hon. Khumaidy A. Tan, Vice Mayor of Jolo, and Mr. Alfadzni S. Haddima, who were recognized for their exceptional contributions to their respective offices and to the province of Sulu.

In addition, Plaques of Appreciation were presented to partner Local Government Units (LGUs) and government agencies, including Sulu State College, in recognition of their continued collaboration and support for the Civil Service Commission’s initiatives.

Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, College President, delivered the closing message, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to all public servants for their unwavering dedication and commitment, and congratulating the awardees for being role models of excellence in government service.

Sulu State College also extends its appreciation to the Civil Service Commission for organizing this momentous occasion, and to Hon. Abdusakur M. Tan and Hja. Nurunisah A. Tan for their steadfast support and continuing efforts toward the progress and development of the Province of Sulu.
