
Sulu State College (SSC) is set to be recommended for ISO 9001:2015 continued certification following the successful conduct of its 2nd Surveillance Audit held from May 20 to 22, 2025.
The opening meeting of the audit was conducted on May 20, 2025, at the SSC Board Room. The session was formally opened by College President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, and was followed by the introduction of the ISO Auditor by Asst. Prof. Adawia Jamasali.
The surveillance audit was led by Mr. Jose Emmanuel Thomas Diel of SOCOTEC Certification Philippines Inc., who presented the audit methodology and audit plan. The audit proper was conducted across various departments and offices within the college in accordance with the established schedule.
On May 22, 2025, after a comprehensive evaluation, the auditor presented the findings, which included opportunities for improvement, observations, minor non-conformity, and the overall conclusion. Based on the results, SOCOTEC recognized SSC’s effective implementation of its Quality Management System, aligned with the requirements of the international standard.
As a result, Sulu State College will be recommended for ISO 9001:2015 continued certification.
A certificate of appreciation was awarded to the SOCOTEC Auditor and presented by Prof. Ututalum, together with Vice President Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid and other college officials.
The college extends its sincere gratitude to SOCOTEC Philippines for its continued partnership in maintaining quality systems. Appreciation was also given to the SSC Quality Management Office led by Assoc. Prof. Delfina Ampung, the Planning Office headed by Assoc. Prof. Antonio Pescadera, and the IQA Team and the entire SSC community for their collaborative efforts.
