
The Sulu State College Research Office, headed by Assoc. Prof. Frissida Daud, Ph.D., successfully conducted the 2nd Interdisciplinary Research Conference (2nd IRC-SSC) on May 15, 2025, at the SSC Center for Culture and Arts. The conference carried the theme “Transcending Sulu State College Educational Inclusivity, Sustainability, Advancement, and Innovation through Research Involvement.”
The event gathered participants from various departments of Sulu State College, including the School of Agriculture, School of Nursing, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Computing Sciences, and College of Teacher Education.
Engr. Firash Zhed S. Ututalum, Dean of Student Affairs, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of research, especially for students. This was followed by a presentation of the conference goals and guidelines by Ms. Fhadzra Aisha P. Sabdani, Acting Guidance Counselor.
The highlight of the event was the student research presentations, divided into morning and afternoon sessions. Both sessions were paneled by Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, Ph.D., Vice President of Sulu State College.
At the end of the conference, awards were given to the student presenters as follows:
