
Sulu State College, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), successfully conducted a Data Privacy Training on April 26, 2025, at the Center for Culture and Arts.
The event commenced with a warm welcome message delivered by the College President, Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE. The training sessions were led by Mr. Lowenfeld S. Tan, DICT Sulu Provincial Officer, who provided comprehensive lectures on Data Awareness with Privacy Assessment Training and Data Privacy and Protection Fundamentals.
The discussions aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of privacy rights, data security measures, and compliance with the Data Privacy Act.
The training was actively participated in by the faculty and staff of the college, reflecting their commitment to upholding data protection standards within the institution.
The event concluded with an inspiring message from Mr. Ahmed Zhedriq Bandahala, Data Privacy Officer of Sulu State College, who encouraged continuous learning and vigilance in safeguarding personal and institutional data.
