
Sulu State College (SSC) and Pangasinan State University (PSU) have officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Memorandum of Understanding at the Board Room of the SSC Administration Building, marking the beginning of a collaborative research project on Accelerating Salt Research and Innovation (ASIN).
The signing ceremony was attended by SSC President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, and Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, along with PSU officials including Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, Vice President for Local and International Affairs, and Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation.
The agreement outlines a joint research framework that sets the objectives, methodologies, and timeline for the ASIN project, with both institutions committing to share relevant data and information. In addition to research, the partnership encompasses the joint implementation of extension programs such as community development initiatives, capacity-building activities, and technology transfers. These efforts aim to empower communities and address socio-economic challenges, further reinforcing SSC’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and collaborative partnerships.
This significant collaboration aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Additionally, it supports SSC’s Strategic Initiative 1: Enhancing Research, Development, and Innovation Capabilities, and Strategic Initiative 4: Expanding Institutional Linkages and Partnerships.
