Sulu State College (SSC) warmly welcomed Pangasinan State University (PSU) for a benchmarking activity aimed at fostering collaboration and sharing best practices. The event commenced with an opening message from SSC President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, followed by a speech from PSU President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, represented by Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, Vice President for Local and International Affairs, who highlighted the significant role of salt production in the province.
Furthermore, the event featured an insightful presentation by Mr. Riadzmie Tan, showcasing the best practices and innovations of both institutions. Subsequently, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed, marking the beginning of a collaborative research project on Accelerating Salt Research and Innovation (ASIN). This agreement signifies a commitment to joint research, data sharing, and the implementation of extension programs aimed at community development, capacity-building, and technology transfer.
In addition, SSC expressed its heartfelt gratitude to PSU officials, including Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, Vice President for Local and International Affairs; Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation; Engr. Ace Brando C. Mamaril, Research Specialist at DOST-PSU ASIN Center; Mr. Ace John Mark P. Liwanag; and Engr. Roy R. Flores, College Secretary of CEA and Study Leader at DOST-PSU ASIN Center, for sharing their expertise and innovative practices with the SSC community.
Moving forward, SSC eagerly anticipates more collaborative initiatives and future partnerships, particularly in advancing Salt Research and Innovation, which is poised to bring significant benefits to both institutions and their respective communities.
