
Sulu State College’s (SSC) School of Agriculture successfully conducted its 2nd Pinning Ceremony for the batch Bubalus Bubalis on February 9, 2025, at the SSC Gymnasium. Themed “Sowing the Seeds of Change in the Year of Transcendence,” the event marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the students, symbolizing their readiness to advance sustainable agricultural practices and contribute to food security.
The ceremony was formally opened by Ms. Malikha J. Ilupa, Dean of the School of Agriculture, who led the event alongside esteemed college officials. SSC President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, graced the occasion, joined by distinguished guests, including Hon. Nurshamier Halun, Mayor of Kalingalan Caluang, and Hon. Abdulbaki Ajibon, represented by Ms. Ferdawsiya Andiling.
The highlight of the event was the pinning ceremony, where the dean, together with the faculty of the School of Agriculture, conferred the symbolic pins upon the students, signifying their dedication and commitment to the field. A heartfelt student testimonial was delivered by Arsima A. Yusop, reflecting on the experiences and aspirations of the batch.
The successful conduct of the 2nd Pinning Ceremony reaffirms SSC’s commitment to Quality Education (SDG 4) and Zero Hunger (SDG 2), equipping future agricultural professionals with the knowledge and skills to drive sustainable development and strengthen food systems.
