
The Send-Off Ceremony and Orientation for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students, held on January 14, 2025, at the SSC Center for Culture and Arts, reflects the College’s commitment to fostering excellence in education. The event featured welcome remarks from Prof. Aldaruhz T. Darkis, DPA, Dean of the College of Computing Studies & Engineering, and inspiring words from Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, SUC President II, as represented by Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, PhD, Vice President. Engr. Firash Zhed Ututalum also delivered a valuable message to the interns, emphasizing their responsibilities and expectations as outlined in the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 104, Series of 2017.
This event aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, aiming to enhance educational opportunities for students and provide them with the necessary skills for their careers. It also reflects the Sulu State College (SSC) Vision, which strives to produce globally competitive graduates who contribute to the development of the region. The SSC Core Values, specifically Solidarity, Professionalism, Integrity, Commitment, and Excellence, are embodied in the program’s focus on collective effort, ethical practices, and the pursuit of high academic standards.
In terms of the SSC Strategic Plan, the event aligns with Strategic Initiative 3: Revise the Curriculum and Develop New Programs Towards Transformative and Integral Learning, as it supports the continuous improvement of the academic offerings to better prepare students for the global workforce. Additionally, it supports Strategic Initiative 4: Student Affairs – Create a Social Development, Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities, by providing a platform for students to engage in personal and professional growth opportunities.
